The RSS (Really Simple Syndication) format became very popular over the last years, especially because it allows users to check out a lot of information in a very short time.
Easy to install, the application has a nicely designed and simple interface divided into four settings tabs, plus an 'About' tab. The feeds tab displays all the subscribed feeds and allows the addition of new ones. A new RSS is added by pressing the "Add..." button and typing in an RSS address. Another window with various options like pooling interval and RSS name will appear, allowing further customization. The Pop-ups tab sets the notifications behavior, appearance, and content. A very useful feature for users with multiple monitors, allows them to chose on which one the notifications will be displayed. The Options tab contains software update options, caching, and proxy server settings. The forth tab, Filters, allows users to apply keywords selections for each subscribed RSS feed. This is very useful for people with a lot of RSS feeds, as it saves them a lot of time.
Pros
- Easy to use and set
Cons
- No OPML export/import
- Does not detect nor warns about duplicate feeds
